My Goals Moving Forward

In order to envision the path forward to living a comfortable life, it's also important to set smart goals.

You wouldn't go on a road trip if you didn't know your end destination. It's the same with life. Planning

your goals allows you to better visualize where you're actually headed. Or, in other words, the thing you are actually

trying to achieve with the actions you're doing. That's why I reflected on the goals I wanted to achieve in life.

Short Term Goals

My first short term goal in preparing for college is to get at least 92% GPA. This is so that I can maximize

my chance to get into a good college, specifically UP Los Banos, or Ateneo de Manila.

Next, another short term goal I have is to develop my interpersonal skills so that I can more quickly adapt

to the fast paced, hectic environment not only in college, but Manila in general.

Additionally, I would like to engage in civic engagement. Specifically, learning more about politics. Because of

social media, most Filipinos in this generation are involved with the politics of our nation. Therefore, I need

to learn more about the political organization of the country, not only to fit in, but also to build a bigger

spirit of responsibility as a citizen of the Philippines and a bigger sense of patriotism for the country I live in.

Lastly, I would like to build a better relationship with my parents. Right now, I'm not so close, but I'm also

not so awkward with my parents. If I want to survive in Manila without my parents, then I will definitely need

the confidence to ask for guidance and support when I need it.

Long Term Goals

As an aspiring mechanical engineer, I really value the importance of prayer. Therefore, one of my long term goals

is to continually integrate spiritual activities in my life. Even if I leave the Ateneo when I go to college, I aim

to continually apply the principles and values I've learned here, especially Finding God in All Things through continually

going to mass and praying regularly.

Aside from spiritual development, one of my long term goals is to find someone who I would like to spend my whole life

with, and hopefully reproduce. This is so that I can contribute to the development of our country and further extend my

legacy to the next generation.

And lastly, I would also like to give to not only those who have supported me, but also those in need through

service. I hope that no matter where I go in the future, I still find the courage in me to serve those who need it.

Even if it's only through small gifts and gestures, I hope I somehow am able to use my future position to help those in need.
